Robert James Persky, 72, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 23, 2017.Service: 10 a.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, 76086. Burial: 2 p.m. Thursday at Roselawn Memorial Park, 3801 Roselawn Dr., Denton, 76207.Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Pathway of Grace Church, 5100A Gus Thomasson Rd, Mesquite, TX 75150.Robert was born July 1, 1945 to Arthur and Sadie Persky. He married the love of his life, Kay Hyde, in 1969, and together they started a family. He was called to the ministry in 1969. He pastored at many churches throughout Indiana, Illinois, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky and retired in Texas in 2013 after 49 years of dedicated service. He was also a District Superintendent in Kentucky, Florida, and Texas for nearly 10 years.In his spare time, Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family, but his main passion was the study of Theology. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, pastor and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.Robert was preceded in death by his eldest son, Michael Ted Persky, and his parents.Survivors: wife of 48 years, Kay Persky; children, Neal Persky and wife, Jody, Livia Clayton and husband, Ray, and Bradley Persky and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Hannah, Blake, Trent, Ella, John, and Logan; and a host of loving extended family and friends.
