Helen Wadene Clouse, 94, passed away Friday, October 3, 2003 in Azle.Funeral: 10 A.M., Tuesday, October 7, at Azle Christian Church.Burial: 3:00 P.M., Tuesday at Albany Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 P.M., Monday at White's Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers donations may be made to John Knox Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or Azle Christian Church.Helen Wadene McLemore Clouse was born August 21, 1909, in Shackelford County to Wade and Ada McLemore. She attended Albany Public School and Hardin-Simmons College, Abilene. In 1925 Helen was married to J. Floyd Clouse and moved to Dallas. September 1, 1949, the Clouse family moved to their ranch near Azle, Parker County. Helen was employed by the Azle Independent School District as secretary for 30 years. She retired in August, 1983. Helen was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church and served as an elder. She was Charter President of the Azle Business and Professional Women's Club. Helen served as Secretary and President of the Azle Unit of the American Cancer Society. She also served on the Azle Pastoral Counseling Center, and the Board of Friends of Azle Public Library Trust. In 1977 Helen was named First Lady of the Year by the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. For many years she served as Clerk and Judge in elections. Helen was Judge and Precinct Chairman of Box 7 in Parker County. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Floyd Clouse in 1970; and son-in-law, Hubert Harrison. Survivors: Son, John Clouse and wife, Earlene of Azle; daughter, Wadene Harrison of Austin; grandchildren, Mark Harrison and wife, Irene of San Antonio, Keith Harrison and wife, Karen, Shawn Harrison, all of Austin, Jerry Clouse of Azle; great-grandchildren, Kristy Harrison of San Francisco, CA and Ross Harrison of Austin.
