Ethel Virginia Legate

Ethel Virginia Legate, age 94, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 19, 2003. Ethel Virginia Legate was born at Trinity, Texas to John James Wester and Eva Mae Jones Wester January 28, 1909. She graduated from Weatherford College and taught school for several years at the Y.O. Ranch. She retired at the age of 82 as bookkeeper for Sturges Allen in Weatherford. She was a past president of the Weatherford Business and Professional Women. She was a member of Grace First Presbyterian Church in Weatherford and a past member of Westminster Presbyterian in Fort Worth. She loved to travel, read books, and play games. Her glowing smile, love and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her son, John Homer Legate.The family wishes to thank Covenant Hospice and Holland Lake Nursing Center for their love and excellent care. Survivors include daughter, Norma Ham and husband, C.H. "Sonny" of Weatherford; granddaughters, Rhonda Ham of Fort Worth, Rachel Allain and husband, Kyle of Chicago; grandsons, John Legate and Stephen Legate of Riverside, CA; great grandchildren, Alexa, Madeline, Miles and Allison; sister, Evelyn Brothers of Weatherford; and many nephews, cousins and friends.
