William Patrick "Pat" Colgin, 82, a retired Air Force pilot, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003 at his home. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003 at Ash Creek Baptist Church in Azle. Burial: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Pat was born August 12, 1921 in Gatesville. Airplanes were his life. When he was a Sargeant in the Texas National Guard in Brownwood, he met his wife, Joyce. He then joined the Army Air Corps where his dream of flying came true. His first mission was D-Day. He retired from the Air Force in 1961 and moved to Azle. He was loved and respected by many and will be missed by family and friends. Mr. Colgin was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Lizcano in 1997. Survivors: Wife, Joyce Colgin of Azle; daughter, Paulette Sue Browder and husband, Marty of Cotopax, Colo.; brother, Thomas Colgin and wife, Doris of San Marcus; grandchildren, Laura and husband, Mundo Ortiz of San Antonio, David M. Lizcano, Jeremiah and Zane Browder; great-grandchildren, Shei Dyan and Laurice Ortiz. .
