John J. Ragland, 81, died Friday, December 5, 2003 at a Fort Worth hospital.John J. Ragland was born February 10, 1922 in Matador, Texas to John C. and Fanny Copeland Ragland. Mr. Ragland served 23 years in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Verlon L. Ragland.Survivors include wife, Bessie L. Ragland; son, Malcolm Ray Ragland of Wasilla, AK, daughter, Linda Sue Cockrum of Weatherford; grandchildren, Tracee Fowler of Houston, Kelley Morrison of St. Augustine, Fla., Isha Ranae Smith of Houston, Tiffany Hicks of Fort Worth, Heather Schmidt of Millsap, Kimberley Cockrum of Weatherford; grandson-in-law, Harold Hicks of Fort Worth; great grandchildren, Emma Fowler of Houston, Shelbee Allen of St. Augustine, Fla., Sydnee Allen of St. Augustine, Fla., Lynden Hicks of Fort Worth, Logan Hicks of Fort Worth, Stephanie Jurik of Millsap, Caylee Schmidt of Millsap, Tristen Schmidt of Millsap; brothers and sisters, Evelyn J. Henderson and family of Weatherford, Ruby J. Chambers and family of Westbrook; sister-in-law, Thelma Ragland and family of Abilene.
