Malcolm Arlen Gamble

August 22, 1934 — December 20, 2003

Malcolm Arlen Gamble, 69, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 20, 2003 after a long and brave struggle with cancer.Funeral: 10 a.m., Wednesday at White's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at White's Funeral Home. Mac was born in Charlie, Texas and moved with his family many times during his childhood. After living for a while on a ranch in Aledo, the Gamble family settled in the Springtown area in the early 50's where Mac attended Springtown schools and played on the Springtown High School basketball team. He worked in the carpet business in Wichita Falls in the late 50's, later joined the guardforce at General Dynamics where he was a supervisor until 1977. He retired from the Lone Star Gas Company in Springtown in 1994. After retirement, he and Goodwyn spent summers at their much loved second home in Eagle Nest, NM where Mac enjoyed fishing and socializing with friends who became his mountain family. He also enjoyed spending each November on the Gulf Coast in Orange Beach, Alabama. His other talents and interests included welding, gardening, training cutting horses, photography, and his family. He had a sense of humor and enjoyed a good joke. Mac was preceded in death by his parents, Myrle and Audrey Gamble of Springtown; sister, Neysa Clark of Ft. Worth; son-in-law, Dan Correll of Springtown; and granddaughter, Samantha Bell of Ft. Worth.Survivors: Wife of 30 years, Goodwyn Gamble; daughter, Cathy Kuzell and husband, John of Gilbert, AZ; son, Chris Gamble and wife, Cheryl of Weatherford; daughters, Valerie Bell of Ft. Worth and Beth Dickens and husband, Jimmy of Springtown; sister, Jan Kingrea and husband, Jim of Ft. Worth; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Henry Hopkins and wife, Beverly of Arlington; brother-in-law, Wayne Clark and wife, Margaret of Weatherford; and aunt, Opal Currington of Waurika, OK.
