Jewel Mavis Edwards Chapman Durrett

Born Jewel Mavis Edwards in Bluffton, Arkansas, January 13, 1911, died Sunday, December 28, 2003 at the age if 92 in Weatherford, Texas.Jewel was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and Pythian Sisters. Jewel worked as a supervisor for Centra Leather and owned and operated restaurants in Oklahoma before moving to Weatherford in 1970. She also worked with the Green Thumb Program and Blair Grocery.She was preceded in death by husbands, E. LeRoy Chapman and R.A. "Pete" Durrett; son, Leland Chapman; granddaughter, Teresa Chapman; and great grandson, Trey Wright.Jewel is survived by daughters, Anita Blair of Weatherford and Dana Schrick and husband, Keith of Hudson Oaks; sisters, Marie Switzer of Tecumseh, Oklahoma and Lee Childers and husband, David of Weatherford. She is also survived by grandchildren, Linda and Ron Olson of La Habra, California, Roger and Jennifer Blair of Weatherford, Gail Richards of Hudson Oaks, Kayla and John Gaddis of Moscow, Russia, Barbara Chapman of Weatherford, Darl and Sandy Chapman of Fort Worth, Jason Schrick of Weatherford, Josh and Erica Schrick of Millsap; 13 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and friend and caregiver, Pauline Lester.
