Homer Cleo Phillips, 82, passed away at his home Tuesday, January 13, 2004. Cleo was born in Millsap, Texas on October 30, 1921. He graduated from Millsap High School and married Eula Mae Ford in 1945. He was devoted to God, his family, and the Church. Cleo was a member and elder of the Hillcrest Church of Christ in Weatherford and a leader in the church for over 60 years. After retiring as a farmer and dairyman, he became a rancher and devoted much of his time to Farm Bureau where he was a charter member and past President. He was honored with the Farm Bureau Pioneer Award in 2000. He was preceded in death by grandson, Bryant Franklin Riddle; and great grandson, William Edward Riddle, Jr.; sister, Opal Thorton; and brother, Orville Phillips.Mr. Phillips is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Eula Mae Phillips of Weatherford; five children, son, Ricky Phillips and wife, Thain of AZ; daughters, Janie Riddle and husband, Thomas, Teresa Gilbert and husband, Roy, and Debra Phillips, all of Weatherford, Cherry Bond and husband, Kevin of Grand Prairie; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Mary Evelyn Fox and husband, Jim.Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2004 at Hillcrest Church of Christ in Weatherford. Burial will follow in Hill Cemetery, Parker County. The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home, Weatherford. Pallbearers for the service will be grandsons, Xander Bond, James Gilbert, Wade Gilbert, Jeremy Hale, Wesley Hale, JT Phillips, Shawn Phillips, Bill Riddle; and great grandson, Weston Phillips.
