Sarah Margaret Stevens

Sarah Margaret Stevens, 79, a Homemaker, died Friday, March 5, 2004 at Weatherford, Texas. Sarah Margaret Stevens was born March 20, 1924 to Edward Leo Utsinger and Zoe Nora Steed in Breckenridge, Texas. At the age of fourteen, Sarah moved with her family to Borger. She was a graduate of Borger High School. She married Edward Dow Stevens in Clovis, NM on April 26, 1941. Sarah was an avid dog lover and had several prize show dogs. Sarah enjoyed hooking rugs, shopping and was a super sleuth with her friend Lucy. She was a member of the Johnson Park Church of Christ in Borger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Dow Stevens; lifelong friend, Stephen Winters, Sr.; and her dogs Choc and LacySurvivors include sons, James "Jim" Dow Stevens and wife Sandi, of Willow Park, Edward "Ed" Lee Stevens and wife, Francis, of Mesa, AZ.; grandchildren, Jason, Chris, Jared, Jamie and Justin; great grandchild, Madelyn Sarah; sister, Dortha Elizabeth Mayo of Bartlesville, OK; cousins, Neal Utsinger and Terry Utsinger; and countless other family members and friends who were all touched by her kindness. Memorial Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 13 at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors, 314 S. Hedgecoke, Borger, Texas.
