Ernest Clifford Clegg went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 14, 2004 at the age of 93 years, 10 months.Clifford, as he was called by everyone, was born May 23, 1910 in Rotan, Fisher County, Texas to Joseph and Paralee Clegg. Clifford was a life long member of The Church of the Nazarene. He was charter member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene for 50 years in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was Sunday School Superintendent and Music Director for many years.Clifford retired from Reynolds Metal in Corpus Christi, Texas. After retirement he returned to Rotan and carried on the family farm for eight years, retiring again, and returning to Corpus Christi.Clifford was married to Alma Clegg for 57 years, who passed away November 2, 1987. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Talma Frank Stovall.He is survived by his wife, Lorene; they were married November 13, 1993; two daughters, Rita Clegg Eason of Grand Prairie, Juna C. Reynolds of Corpus Christi; two step-daughters, Becky Anderson and husband, Gene of Weatherford and Joyce M. Dunklin and husband, Bivan of Tallapossa, GA; step-son, Milton Pack and wife, Gerri of Bryan; three brothers, Jim Clegg and wife, Alice of Whittier, CA, Willard Clegg and wife, Izetta of Castle Rock, WA, and Luther Clegg and wife, Mary Jo of Fort Worth; two sisters, Naomi Vineyard of Rotan, and Francis Ferris and husband, Tom of Wayside, Texas; nine grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 19 step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Friendship Baptist Church, Weatherford, with Rev. Jerry Harrison and Rev. Toby Easley officiating.
