Doug Stokes, 58, a toolmaker, died suddenly Thursday, March 25, 2004 in Fort Worth.Funeral: 2:00 P.M. Monday Walnut Creek Baptist Church. Burial: Jaybird Cemetery. Visitation: 3:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials: Walnut Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 220 W. Reno Rd., Azle TX 76020.Doug was born to John Henry and Blanche Row Stokes on January 28, 1946 in Waco. He was an 18 year employee with Bell Helicopter. Doug was an inspiration to his family and all his friends. He was a Deacon at Walnut Creek Baptist Church, a member of River Oaks Masonic Lodge #1311 and a member of Castleberry Eastern Star #1028. Doug was preceded in death by his father John Henry Stokes, a sister, Naomi Stokes, a brother, Sam Stokes.Survivors: Wife of 35 years, Elaine Stokes of Azle; daughters, Kelli Elaine Stokes of Bedford, Gloria Michelle "Mikki" Stokes of Irving; Mother, Blanche Stokes of River Oaks; brother, John Stokes of River Oaks, George Stokes of Burleson; mother and father-in-law, Ellis and Peggy Fewell of Azle; numerous nieces and nephews.
