Doris McClure was born in Oklahoma, but made it to Texas just as soon as she could, when five years old. She went to Claude High School where one of her favorite hobbies was dancing- ballet, acrobatic, even tap dancing. Doris took lessons in Amarillo and paid for her lessons by helping the teacher with students in the other classes. Doris found a calling when she started work in a beauty shop to help pay for college. Hairdressing was to be part of her life for a long time. Doris married Ralph in 1940. Their son Bob was born in 1941, and son Terry in 1948. Doris and Ralph were together for 47 wonderful years.She loved to play the piano! After moving to Pampa in 1950, Doris found a neighbor who shared her hobby, and they would get together two or three nights a week and play duets. Doris loved to sew, too. She made many clothes for herself and her family. Her other hobby was bridge. Some of her favorite times were spent with three fellow bridge fanatics and a deck of cards!Doris is survived by her sons, Bob McClure and wife, Mae of Garland, Texas and Terry McClure and wife, Donnella of Seattle; sister, Lorna Walker of Weatherford; grandchildren, Katy McClure of Seattle, Aaron Steele and wife, Holly of Gilbert, Az, Stephanie Lee of Dallas, Randall Lee of Dallas; great grandchildren, Liberty Evelyn Prieb, Thomas Steele, Tate Steele.
