Willis A. Shahan, 85, went home to be with his Lord and Master on Wednesday, March 31, 2004.Willis A. Shahan was born September 15, 1918 in Parker County to Herman and Nora Shahan. He was raised and lived in Weatherford his entire life. He attended public schools in Weatherford and graduated in 1937. On October 9, 1937 he married Helen Davlin. On October 9, 2003, they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. They had three children. Prior to World War II, he worked for Duke and Ayers in Crockett, Texas. After being classified as 4F, he and his wife moved to Weatherford and he went to work for General Dynamics. He became Supervisor of the Wood Shop Department. After working there for 38 years, he retired in 1981.Willis Shahan grew up in the First Baptist Church. When he was eight years old, he gave his life to Jesus Christ. Throughout his entire life he was very active in church work. He was a Sunday school teacher, Trustee, deacon, and a member of the building committee that built the current sanctuary.Willis was preceded in death by two sons, Anthony and Steven.He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughter, Dianna Smith; granddaughter, Lynn Thompson and husband, Charlie; three great grandchildren, Ashley Shields, Keith Shields, and Dakota Thompson; brother, Yearby Shahan and wife, Nita; all of Weatherford. A great aunt, Mable Feyma of Van Couver, Wa; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the United Sates.
