Bennie F. Hayes

Bennie F. Hayes, 78, a retired jet mechanic with the United States Air Force, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2004 in Fort Worth.Graveside Service: 2:00 P.M. Friday, Friendship Cemetery, Boyd. Visitation: 5 to 7 Thursday, at the funeral home. Bennie was born in Boyd September 29, 1925 to James Allen and Bertie Hayes. He was the fifth generation of Hayes family to live in the Boyd area. Bennie honorably served his country in WWII with the U.S. Navy. He also served in the United States Air Force in Korea retiring from the Air Force in 1964. Bennie never met a stranger and was a real cut-up and tease. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.Survivors: Wife, Willie M. Hayes of Azle; sons, Wayne Hayes and wife Sharon of Springtown, Steve Taber and wife Karen of Mineral Wells; brother James Hayes and wife Mary of Aspen, CO; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
