Tommy Lee Clark, 2004, a retired Navy veteran, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at a Fort Hospital. Tommy Lee Clark was born to Jim Tom and Kathleen Mae Keith Clark on July 11, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas.Since his first enlistment in Dallas, Texas on July 20, 1959, his dedicated efforts have benefited numerous squadrons and shore enlistments. In October 1959, he served with the Catapult Crew aboard the USS Oriskany in WestPac until he received orders to AD "A' School in Memphis in May 1961. He utilized his new mechanical knowledge aboard VA-133, Cecil Field, Florida in October 1961 until its decommissioning in August 1962, when he was transferred to VA-12. In August 1963, he served at NAS Dallas, on the numerous Reserve aircraft at the shore establishment until July 1967 when he moved west, to Lemoore, California to cruise with the VA-147 aboard USS Ranger. He continued his westward work on their P-3 and A-3 aircraft supporting reconnaissance flights to Vietnam. In June 1971 he returned to CCONUS and reported to training squadron, Twenty-One in Kingsville, Texas until his final transfer to HS-2 in December 1975. Tommy took great satisfaction in the knowledge that he made a definite contribution to the strength and prestige of our nation. The awards Tommy received include five Good Conduct Medals, two Navy Unit Commendations, two Meritorious Unit Commendations, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, a Vietnam Campaign Medal, a Vietnam Services Medal, a Republic of Vietnam Unit Citation and a national Defense Medal, all clearly indicating his loyalty and devotion to the United States Navy.Survivors include wife of 21 years, Frances Clark; daughters, Susan Nowak and husband, Eddie; Tammy Cargill and husband, Terry; grandchildren; Justin Don, Blake Renee', Justin Edward, Trace Caleb and Kateland Nowak, Thomas Wayne and Taylor Dawn Cargill; mother, Kathleen Mae Zeigler; brothers and sisters, Jeff Clark, Kathy Hollenbach, Vicki Shinn, Winston Clark, Bonnie Brinkman, Jim Clark, Glenn Clark, and Kim Kilgore; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004 in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Weatherford. The family will receive guests from 6-8 Friday at White's Funeral Home, Weatherford.
