Mary Kay Mickle, 53, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at her home in Weatherford, after a brief battle with cancer.Private service will be held Saturday at the Mickle family home. Entombment will be in the Mickle family mausoleum. Visitation: There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorials: Contributions may be made to the Mary Kay Mickle and Judy Kay Mickle Scholarship Fund, C/O Marcell Cole, 6819 Quanah Hill Rd., Weatherford, TX 76087.Born Mary Kathleen Meador on February 6, 1951 in Salem, IL to Francis and Deloris Meador, Mary K. graduated from Salem Community High School in 1969. She attended Kaskaskia College, Centralia, IL and Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and earned her B.A. degree from the University of Texas, Austin. Mary K. married Wes Mickle on October 26, 1996 at their ranch in Weatherford. Family and friends gathered under the big Texas sky and harvest moon to celebrate the love that Mary K. and Wes shared. Together they developed and managed the Canyon West Country Club and Subdivision on their ranch in Weatherford. Prior to her marriage, she was a Vice-president for Equitable Real Estate Investment Management, Inc., in Dallas. She oversaw asset management for Equitable Real Estate's hotel portfolio in the central U.S. Her hotel experience dates back to mid 1970's when she was director of sales and marketing for a major resort hotel in San Antonio. From 1988 to 1991 she worked as a General Manager for Hawthorne Suites Hotel, where she later was responsible for the opening of a hotel in Charleston, SC. Mary K. was very career-oriented, as well as a family-oriented person. She paid close attention to her family and loved them very much. She orchestrated a trip for her mother and other family members to Newport, RI as well as a trip to Isle of Palms, SC, where all enjoyed a beach house and family time together. She welcomed family to visit her wherever and whenever possible. Her last weekend was spent with her Mother, siblings, and their families at her home in Weatherford. It was a true miracle to have spent that special time with Mary K. as many memories, pictures, laughs, hugs and kisses were shared. She gave so much to her family and will be greatly missed. She was loved dearly by her husband, Wes, and her entire family, and many friends. She was a true blessing to all who knew her. Mary K. was preceded in death by her father, Joel Francis Meador.Mary K. is survived by her husband, Wes Mickle, of Weatherford; mother, Deloris Meador of Salem, IL; brothers David Meador and wife, Connie of Nashville, TN, Jon Meador of Dallas, and Joe Meador of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Julia Fuhrhop of Cahokia, IL, Gloria Bass and husband, Terry of Salem, IL, Susan Brandt and husband, Derrick of Sandoval, IL; step-daughters, Sally Mickle Joy and husband, Greg, Sue Mickle McDaniel and husband, Dr. Ron; step-son Stanley Charles Mickle and wife, Sheree, all of Weatherford; and several nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
