Millsap - Shirley LaVon Giles Marcotte, 67, a retired teacher, died Thursday, November 18, 2004. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 20, 2004 at Southside Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 PM Friday evening at White's Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to The Shirley Marcotte Scholarship Fund, of Ralph Ripley Chapter, DAR.Shirley was born June 27, 1937 in Orr, Oklahoma to James and Gracie Clark Giles. She taught school for 30 years, retiring in 1997. Shirley married George Marcotte on February 17, 1956 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Mineral Wells, Mineral Wells Chapter #44, Order of the Eastern Star, Barthold Lanham Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a life member of Ralph Ripley Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, First Families of the Twin Territories, Texas State Teachers Association and Texas Retired Teacher Association. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorthey Inez Skates; brothers, Herschel James Giles, Truman Foster Giles, and Earl Wesley Stie.She is survived by her husband, George I. Marcotte of Millsap; daughters, Tamera Ann Rollins of Mineral Wells, Jean Marie Marcotte of Saginaw; grandchildren, David Wayne Rollins and Pamela Ann Rollins of Mineral Wells; brother in law, Leon Marcotte of Chapperel, NM, Mike and Maxine Marcotte of Mexia; sister in law, Marie Marcotte of Chapperel, NM
