Louise Burleson Skinner, 84, died peacefully Thursday, December 2, 2004 at Azle Manor.Funeral: 1:00 P.M. Monday, Azle Church of Christ. Burial: Laurel Land Cemetery, Fort Worth. Visitation: Mrs. Skinner will lie in state from 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials: "Friends of the Library" C/O Judy Whitt 609 SE Parkway, Azle, TX 76020.Louise was born August 25, 1920 in Antioch, Oklahoma to Emmett "Bud" Burleson and Bessie "BeBe" Willingham. She was one of four children, all sisters. At age 17, she worked as a photographer and graduated High School shortly thereafter. On April 10, 1938, she married the love of her life, Thurman Joy Skinner, and was a homemaker in Fort Worth. After her children were grown, she worked for the Fort Worth ISD for 12 years. On November 26, 1979, her husband passed away and Louise moved to Azle shortly thereafter. She was an active member of Azle Church of Christ. Louise was a member of the Eta Alpha Sorority and was an officer for the Senior Citizens Center. She was a devoted servant to the Azle Public library for which she was presented an award by the City of Azle for 16 years of dedicated service. Louise was an unwavering foundation to her family with her devotion, dedication and steadfast love she freely gave to all. Louise lived her life by the Bible, and said it was the only book she needed in this world. She will be remembered as a devoted Christian and a living sanctuary for all of her family. She would want printed 2 Timothy 4:6-7 ...and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Her husband, Thurman Skinner and her sister Inez Baker preceded her in death.Survivors: sisters, Dortha Adams of San Antonio, and Etheltha Bonnett of Federal Way, WA; sons, David T. Skinner and wife Sandy of Arlington and Gary K. Skinner and wife Madeline of Azle; grandchildren, Scot Skinner and family, Stacy Kissinger and family of Arlington, Amy Skinner and family, Jennifer Hall and family and Tracy Stoff and family; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous family members and friends.
