Goree Kay Hinkle, 83, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2004 in Decatur. Funeral: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 11, at White's Funeral Home. Burial: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6-7 p.m., Friday at White's Funeral Home. Goree "Kay" Henry Hinkle was born March 26, 1921 in Goree, Texas to Arthur E. and Jewell Browning Geske. She attended school at Moran. Kay married Allen Henry and had one son, David. She was a beautician. After working in several shops, Kay became the owner and operator of her own shop in Haltom City. After losing her first husband, she married Lloyd Hinkle in 1962 and was employed at Continental State Bank in Boyd until they moved to Montague County to ranch. Kay was active in her church, art, and the community until she had failing health and moved to Decatur in 2000. She was a member of First Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Kay was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles, and A.E., Jr., and sister, Mary McDowell. Survivors: Husband, Lloyd Hinkle of Decatur; son, David Henry of Oceanside, Calif; grandchildren, Mike Henry and wife, Dawn of Oceanside, Calif., Dawn Raring and husband, Mike, both of Calif.; two great-grandchildren; and Lloyd's son, Duane Hinkle and wife, Dixie and their four children.
