Roy Myrick, of Weatherford, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004.Roy was born July 26, 1928 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. After serving in the armed forces, Roy attended Oklahoma State University and obtained a degree in marketing. He met Peggy at American Airlines in Tulsa, Oklahoma and they were married May 10, 1957. Roy retired from Lockheed Aircraft in 1991. In 1992 he traveled around the world on a freighter, accomplishing his lifetime dream. Roy was an elder at Grace First Presbyterian Church. He was a gentle man that touched many people and will be sorely missed.He is survived by his wife, Peggy Myrick of Weatherford; sons, Sloan Myrick of Sherman Oaks, California, Stuart Myrick of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Slade Myrick of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Jake Myrick and Spencer Myrick; sister, Hazel Cooper of Kerrville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Graveside services are scheduled 2 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2004 in the Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Reverend Charles Bruner officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Sloan Myrick, Stuart Myrick, Slade Myrick, Craig Armstrong, Mark Decker, and John Forrest. Visitation was held Thursday evening at White's Funeral Home, Weatherford.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Kate Rieves Scholarship Fund at Grace First Presbyterian Church, 606 Mockingbird Lane, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
