WEATHERFORD -- Lt. Col. William Lynn Ball, 78, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2005 in Weatherford. Graveside Services: 11:00 a.m., Friday, at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Weatherford. Visitation: 6-7 p.m., Thursday at White's Funeral Home. Memorials: Memorials to Alzheimers Assoc. of N. Central Texas, 101 Summit Ave., Ft. Worth, TX 76102. William Lynn Ball was born Nov. 29, 1926 in Gates, Tenn. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later joined the U.S. Marine Corp. After 24 years, he retired as a fighter pilot with the rank of Lt. Colonel. Mr. Ball served in Korea and Vietnam and was awarded 15 Air Medals and two Distinguished Flying Crosses. After retiring from the armed forces, he worked for Texas Instruments, Inc. in Dallas as a corporate pilot. Mr. Ball is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Floyd Ball and Camie Irene Pickard; brother, Milton Pickard Ball; sisters, Mary Frances Hardy and Louise Carmack. Survivors: wife, Nancy; son, Wes Ball and wife, Suzanne; step-son, John Paulman and wife, Karen; brother, Jerry Ball and wife, Carolyn; sister, Chris Johnson; four grandchildren; dear friends, Jim Armstrong, Paul McGarrah, Frank Laubenthal and Mary Holt.
