SPRINGTOWN -- William Keeney, 76, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at his farm in Springtown. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1500 Ball St., Weatherford. Burial: The Old Rock Church in Cranfills Gap. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Mr. Keeney asked that memorials be sent to the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund or Covenant Hospice, 3221 Collinsworth St., Suite 160, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. William Keeney was born May 31, 1928, to George Curtis Keeney and Ila Mae Curry in Carlton. He was baptized at Carlton Methodist Church and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church of Stephenville. Mr. Keeney held a master's degree in education from Tarleton State University and was a well-loved and respected administrator and educator. He was superindendent of the Poolville ISD and principal of Springtown and Hillsboro high schools. Mr. Keeney also taught and coached in Guthrie, Benjamin, Aleman, Hamilton, Stephenville and Mineral Wells. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Weatherford, the Retired Teachers Association of Texas, Retired Adminstrators of Texas and the Texas High School Coaches Association. Mr. Keeney also served on numerous city and county boards. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jay Thomas Keeney and George Curtis Keeney II. Survivors: Wife of 55 years, Hazel Jean Olson Keeney; children, Karen Lynn and husband, Paul Hagen, William Walker Keeney II and wife, Judy, Elizabeth Carlene and husband, Randy Fields, and Jay Glenn Keeney and wife, Patricia; and grandchildren, Emilyanne Curry and Daniel Walker Hagen, Lindsey Renee and Madison Michelle Keeney, Michael Griffen, Garrett Railey, Eric Lindell and Christopher Scott Fields, Chelsee Janeen Keeney, Ashlee Lynn Reed, and Marissa Dale Keeney.
