Faye Gene Chipman

Fay Gene Chipman, 87, of Millsap, entered eternal life Saturday morning, March 5, 2005. She loved life here on earth with her family and friends.Fay Gene joined sisters Leona, Mona, and Letha, plus brother Cecil and Melvin to complete the Milt and Dora Stephens family. She lived in the Poe Prarie community her entire life. Fay Gene and Ed Chipman, a neighbor boy, married Jan. 6, 1935. She stayed youthful in spirit her entire life. She and Ed farmed, and later bought Ed's family farm, where they lived and raised their own four children: Frances, James, Edrey, and JoAnn. Fay Gene's desire was to become a nurse, and little did she know, through the years she would be a home care giver to many in her family. At 87, she had out lived all her siblings, and all her husband's siblings. Her husband, Ed, daughter, Edrey, and grandson, Russell preceded her death. Fay Gene enjoyed quilting, reading, trips with her family, and gospel music. She was a Christian with a very big heart and physically and spiritually. Fay Gene was a wonderful historian for her family, Poe Prarie School and community. She was a delightful storyteller. The family is grateful to: Jane Van Deaver, Palo Pinto Home Health personel, and Dr.'s David and Alice Ramsey for the special love and medical care given to our mother. SURVIVORS: She is survived by her children, Frances, James, and JoAnn; grandchildren, Jackie, Liese, Howard, Linda, and Glenda; 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and the remaining survivor of her generation, her first cousin, Howard Stephens of Ft. Worth. SERVICES: Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 8 at Poe Prarie Cemetery. VISITATION: Visitation is scheduled from 6-8:00 PM Monday evening at White's Funeral Home.
