Boyd Shivers

Boyd Shivers, 83, passed away Monday, March 7, 2005 in a Fort Worth Hospital. Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 12 at The Church of the Nazarene in Mineral Wells. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at White's Funeral Home. Boyd was born April 10, 1921 to George and Viola Shivers in Konawa, Okla. He was a longtime resident of Weatherford, a member of the Church of Nazarene, and the American Legion for over 50 years. Boyd was also a Sunday school teacher and member of Braum's breakfast club. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.Survivors: sons, Boyd Shivers, Jr and wife Carrie of Weatherford, Joe N. Shivers and wife Bonniejune of NM.; daughter, Inez Watkins and husband, Gary "Dutch" of Weatherford; sisters, Gladys Gillock, Neoma Thompson, Geneve Wilson and Ida Fay Baggett all of CA.; called by his grandchildren, grandpa or great pa, 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; and his favorite dog, "Bobbie".
