ALEDO - Marvin Hurt McGuire III, 60, proud father, devoted husband, caring provider, and gifted salesman, passed away Sunday, April 10th, surrounded by his loving wife, children, and family. Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, 14 April 2005 at Greenwood Baptist Church. Burial: Greenwood Community Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at White's Funeral Home. Memorials: The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Ronald McDonald House, Weatherford Senior Service Center, The Bunkhouse or Community Hospice.. Marvin, or "Mick" as he was widely known, was born January 2, 1945 in Salisbury, North Carolina. After college, Mick, joined the United States Army serving in Korea as an Aide-de-Camp to a Commanding General. Finding a home in Texas 1967, he met Linda Ruth Heartsill and they wed 16 November 1968. Settling down in Weatherford after a successful stint as a jewelry store manager, Mick found his calling in auto sales; serving customers automotive needs as a salesperson/manager at local dealerships for more than 30 years. For the last 25 years, Mick helped consumers from his desk at Jerry Durant dealerships in Weatherford. Along with helping thousands of customers, Mick found time to enjoy his family and take in the Texas sun. He enjoyed water sports, working in the yard, playing golf, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. After 37 years of marriage and 60 years of family, friends and cherished memories, we're left with the fond images of a strong and successful father, husband, son, and salesman.. Survivors: Mick was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Hurt McGuire Jr. He is survived by his mother Caroline Land McGuire of Cedar Bluff, Va, and sisters Dinah Douglas of Charolettesville, Va, and Eve Washburn and her husband Christopher of Brandywine, Maryland. Mick is also survived by a son who inherited his name, Marvin Hurt IV, a son who mirrors his personality, John L. Heartsill, a son who shares his sense of humor, Matthew Land, a daughter who embodies his strength, Marianne Barber, and a wife who shared his soul, Linda Ruth Heartsill McGuire. Additional survivors include 6 grandchildren; Marvin Hurt V (9), Brenna Elle (8), Tanner Levi (7), Sofia Annaliese (4), Sloan Simpson (2), and Chloe Tatyana (1). Marvin Hurt McGuire III resting in peace with our Lord Jesus Christ.
