Claude Lee Parker Jr., 69, passed away peacefully at his home the morning of Tuesday, May 10, 2005.Claude Lee Parker Jr. was born November 6, 1935 in Huntington, WV to Rachel and Lanky Parker. The family moved to Columbus, OH where Lee graduated from University High School at Ohio State University. He served in the United States Air Force. He met and married Evelyn Phillips while stationed in Fort Worth. The family lived in Columbus, OH until 1976 before returning to Fort Worth. Lee was a member of the Capitol City Lodge in Columbus, OH and endowed member of Dallas Lodge No. 760, where he served as Tiler. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and the Moslah Shrine. Lee participated in the Moslah Shrine band and the Fort Worth City Band, playing trumpet.Lee worked and retired in 2000 from Houston General Insurance Company as a litigation specialist. He was an avid golfer, and looked forward to his Sunday morning round with friends, John and K.C. And enjoyed his yearly pilgrimage to Jekyll Island, GA with his long time friends, Wayne and Gary. He was able to fulfill his lifelong dream to visit Egypt and Greece in 2000 with his daughter, Rebecca. Lee delighted in being able to translate the hieroglyphics. He liked being outdoors, watching the squirrels and lizards playing in the yard.He read voraciously, had a wicked sense of humor and loved a good practical joke. Lee took good care of his family and friends. He was kind, always willing to help whenever asked. Sunday dinner at Fred and Teresa's will never be the same, neither will grocery shopping on Thursdays. Oscar is desolate now that his constant companion is gone. He loved teasing his mother-in-law, Mary Phillips, who he called his "girlfriend" over a cup of coffee at the kitchen table. He loved generously and was well loved in return and will be missed greatly by those he left behind.Survivors include wife, Evelyn of Fort Worth; daughters, Teresa Kendall and husband, Fred, Rebecca Barrett and husband, Don; mother-in-law, Mary Phillips; sisters-in-law, Mary Lorene Ritter, Dorothy Cage; brother-in-law, Alvin Phillips and wife, Maudina; step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services are scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday at White's Chapel of Memories in Weatherford. Burial will follow in East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford.Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. to service time at White's Funeral Home, Weatherford.
