Zelma Pauline White, 91, a retired school teacher, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 18, 2005 in Mineral Wells.Funeral: 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial: Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at White's Funeral Home in Mineral Wells.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideons International or Immanuel Baptist Church.Zelma was born to James Thomas and Lucinda Elizabeth Biles on March 20, 1914 in Madill, Oklahoma. She began her teaching career in a one-room school in Oklahoma. Zelma also taught school in Tushka and Wapanucka, Oklahoma. Texas towns where she taught were: Plainview, Brownfield, Crosbyton and Brock. She completed her teaching career of 32 years at Lee Middle School in Mineral Wells, retiring in 1979. Her husband, L. E. White, Jr. preceded her in death on February 24, 2005.Survivors: daughters, Jane Alexander of Mineral Wells, Karen Donoho and husband, Odis, of Cisco; grandchildren, D'Lisa McIntosh of Austin, D'Lynda Jackson of Temple, D'Lora Staton of Perryton and Chad Donoho of Cisco; 14 great grandchildren, sister, Katrina White of Duncan, Okla.; numerous nieces and nephews.
