Angelo Schmidt, 78, a 35 year resident of Parker County, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2005 in Weatherford.Funeral: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, White's Chapel of Memories. Burial: family Mausoleum in Puerto Rico. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at White's Funeral Home, Weatherford. Angelo Schmidt passed from this life into the next at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. In life, he had a colorful career as a boxer, soccer player, and race car driver. Angelo was a renowned Service Engineer at Overseas Motors in Fort Worth, and taught mechanics from all over the United States and England in the Jaguar and Rolls Royce division. A true Renaissance man, Angelo amazed his family and friends with his command of seven languages and his knowledge of global issues and sports trivia. He fancied himself a gentleman farmer and often had an odd assortment of cattle and other livestock at the family's ranch. Angelo and his wife traveled extensively, cruised the world and enjoyed exotic itineraries such as Rome, the Meditteranean, Panama Canal and the Baltic Sea. Angelo enjoyed deep sea fishing and caught some of the family's finest meals in Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, California and the Caribbean. As far as Angelo was concerned his greatest legacy was his family, and he will be sorely missed by them. Survivors: his greatest pride was his wife, Louise and their four children; Louise, Stephanie, Ronald and Alan. He proudly proclaimed that all of his eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren looked like him, and he often pointed to family photographs to support that claim.
