Edith May Allen

Edith Allen, 80, died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 in Azle.Graveside: 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Doty Cemetery in Gordon,Texas. Edith was born May 18, 1925 to Holly Gerald and Beatrice Mae Rodgers Bates in Ryan, Okla. She was a former resident of Blanchard, Okla. and Lake Palo Pinto. Editha was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Allen in 1988, and her brother Jody Bates in 1998.Survivors: daughter, La Watha Mae Arterberry of Springtown; son, Tommie W. Allen and wife, Clovis of Mingus; brothers, Kern Bates and wife, Mary of Cleburne, Robert Bates of Elk City, Okla., Horace G. Bates and wife, Dottie of Duncan, Ok., Don Bates and wife, Shirley of Oklahoma City, OK., Charles Bates and wife, Judy of Elk City, OK.
