Harriet Ethel Pennington

Harriet Pennington, 91, went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 28, 2005 at a local nursing home. Funeral: 2 p.m., Wednesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial: Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford. Harriet was born September 19, 1913 in Mankato, Minn. She graduated from Mankato High School. Harriet was married to John Truman Pennington. She was a long-time resident of Alexandria, VA, where she was a retired day school teacher. Mrs. Pennington moved to Weatherford in 1994. She was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. Mrs. Pennington was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1998. Survivors: Daughters, Jean Rice of Weatherford, Sue Cromer of Ft. Smith, Ark.; son, John Pennington, Jr. of Germantown, MD; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
