Lois Juanita "Sis" Kennedy West, age 83, of Weatherford died early Tuesday morning, September 27, 2005, at Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth. Sis was born on February 8, 1922, in Weinert, Texas, to the late Wesson and Effie Heath Kennedy. She moved to the Weatherford area with her parents and eight brothers and sisters in 1937. After moving to Parker County she graduated from Peaster High School where she loved to play basketball. On November 6, 1948, she married the love of her life, Obie C. West. She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Weatherford and had a deep, personal relationship with her Lord. The passion of her life was providing love and care for her family. While doing so, she instilled a strong faith in God to all those she touched. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Garland Kennedy, and her sisters, Doris Mitchell, Wanda Hardin, Glenda Moore and Thelma Henry. Sis is survived by her loving husband of almost 57 years, Obie C. West; daughter, Barbara Ann Clinton; son-in-law, Dale Clinton; granddaughter Cristal Schmitz and husband, Alan Schmitz; granddaughter, Candy Sullivan and husband, Jim Sullivan; great-grandsons, Justin Sullivan, Nicholas Sullivan, Carson Schmitz; sister, Dorothy Ferdig; brother, Daulton Kennedy; brother, Weldon Kennedy; her adoring pet, Rudy; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit with the family on Friday, September 30, at White's between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in East Greenwood Cemetery.
