Dr. F. E. J. Harder, 89, a retired educator/minister, died Thursday, November 3, 2005 at an Azle hospital.Memorial Service will be private. Frederick was born February 28, 1916 in Clinton, Missouri to John C. and Anna Harder. He attended Union College, Walla Walla College and Emmanuel Missionary College. Frederick did graduate study in Archelogy and History of Antiquity and Intensive Russian Language while in Washington, D.C. He earned his Ph.D. in education at New York University. Frederick served as President of Middle East College in Beirut, Lebanon. He also chaired the Board of Higher Education of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Washington, D.C. Retiring in Walla Walla, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Olivia C. Harder.Survivors: wife, Marjorie of Azle; son, Fred L. Harder and wife Virginia of Azle; daughter, Claudette Hartman and husband, Dave of Austin; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
