Larry Gail Cotten, 63, a retired College Instructor, died Tuesday, November 8, 2005 in Azle.Funeral: 1:00 P.M. Friday at First Methodist Church of Aledo. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at White's Azle Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to S.C.U.M.C. Mexico missions. Larry was born December 2, 1941 to Clarence and Ruth Cotten in Cooke County. He was a graduate of North Side High School and North Texas State University. He retired in Jaunary of 2005 from Tarrant County College where he taught for 30 years. He also served as President, Chairman of the Board and Conference Host of the National Association of College Automotive Teachers. Larry was preceded in death by his father and his first wife, Vicki.Larry was a true and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. He was an intricate part of the family of Silver Creek United Methodist Church for 28 years. His unselfishness in giving to others was a testimony of his love for his Lord. Larry dedicated his life to Mexico mission work. His hearts passion was for the orphans. He desired to share with them the love he had so graciously been given through his Lord and Saviour. Survivors: wife, Paula; daughters, Laurie Smith and her husband, DeWayne of Crowley, Cori McCauley and her husband, Pat of Fort Worth; son, Clay Cotten and wife, Deirdre of Azle; stepsons, Britt Stone and wife, Wendy of Springtown, Jason Stone of Alvarado; stepdaughter, Joanna Burney and husband, Bradley of Aledo; mother, Ruth Cotten of Fort Worth; brother, Jerry Cotten of Azle; sister, Sibyl Cotten Alter of Fort Lauderdale, FL.;five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
