Eula Fern Allen

December 3, 1933 — January 12, 2006

Our beloved Eula Fern Perry Allen, 72, was killed in a tragic automobile accident Thursday, January 12, 2006 just outside her home in Brazos. Funeral: 11:00 A.M. Monday, Jan. 16 at First Baptist Church of Santo. Burial will follow at Dobbs Valley Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside Marky. Visitation: 3-5 p.m., Sunday at White's Funeral Home in Mineral Wells. Eula was born on Dec. 3, 1933 in Mineral Wells. She met and later married Marcus Allen of Brazos on January 1, 1953. They moved to the Houston area and raised their two children there. Eula and her family were members of Market Street Baptist Church for many years. Eula worked for Gulf Radiotelephone in Pasadena for 15 years and was promoted to assistant to the president, and later to administrative manager. Eula and Marcus retired and returned to Brazos around 1987. They both loved ranching and after Marcus' death in 1993 she continued to ranch on her own. She was awarded Outstanding Resident Conservation Rancher in Palo Pinto County in 2000, and runner-up for Region V in the State of Texas in 2001. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Santo when she passed away, and had served on several committees there. Eula will be missed more than words can ever express. She loved the Lord and raised her children to walk in His way, Prov. 31:25-31. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend, and a prayer warrior for many who never knew. I Thess. 5:17-18: Pray without ceasing and in all things give thanks. Thank you Lord for Eula's life. Eula was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Neil Allen; her father and mother, J.D. and Viola Perry; and her two sisters, Zelma Fowler and Doris Broom. Survivors: Her loving children, Joe Neil Allen, Becky Lynn Allen Newton and husband, Phil D. Newton; beloved grandchildren, Marcus and Eric Allen, Rachel and Hannah Newton; beloved great-grandchildren, Joe and Tyler Allen; beloved friend and companion, Babe Jett; and many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
