AZLE -- Jimmy Joe "JJ" Williamson, 80, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2006 at home. Funeral: 11:00 a.m.,Tuesday at White's Azle Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Cemetery in Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Monday at White's Azle Funeral Home. Memorials: Family requests in lieu of flowers, friends may honor his memory by contributions to brain cancer research. Mr. Williamson was born May 28, 1925 in Vernon to H.D. and Emily Williamson. He served in WWII as a Navy Signalman for 2 1/2 years beginning in 1943. Mr. Williamson was a member of First United Methodist Church in Arlington. After 30 years service, he retired from General Motors in 1987. Mr. Williamson has been a resident of Azle since 1982. He and his wife have spent their summers in Southfork, CO since retirement where he enjoyed four-wheeling and snowmobiling in the mountains. Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by daughter, Gail Williamson; five brothers; and four sisters. Survivors: Wife of 62 years, Bernadene Williamson; son, Gary Williamson of Denton; daughter, Lisa Williamson of Las Vegas, NV; four grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
