d. February 17, 2006

Colonel John D. Hale Jr. celebrated life from September 15, 1922 to February 17, 2007. Born in the Philippines as a U.S. Army dependent, his family eventually settled in Anson, Texas. As a young boy, he worked on his father's farm and helped with the delivery of baby mules and donkeys. John went on to graduate from Texas A&M with a Masters degree in Animal Husbandry. His military career spanned 33 years and three wars: WWII, Korea and Vietnam. After traveling the world for the Army, he spent fifteen years as a ski instructor in Breckenridge Colorado. John was a compassionate man who was a great communicator, a commander, a warrior, a husband, a father and a dear friend. John deeply loved this wife of 31 years, along with his four children, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. John loved the Lord and fellowship at Bethesda United Methodist Church. The family of John Hale would like to express our deepest appreciation to the wonderful people who helped him fight the cancer and bring him comfort during the storm. As it is written in Matthew 25:40 "And the King shall answer and say unto them, 'Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.'
