Garland Wilson, 87, a retired W.W. II veteran, passed away Monday, May 29, 2006 in Fort Worth. Graveside: 10 a.m., Friday at Annetta Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m.,Thursday at White's Funeral Home. Garland was born May 30, 1918, the son of Frank and Mary Wilson in Ft. Worth. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during WWII. Mr Wilson, an avid military man, also served in the Army as a recruiter and in the Air Force. After the war, Garland tried his hand at farming, however, he soon discovered farming was not his forte. He then joined the Air Force and retired from Carswell. Garland's hobbies included working crossword puzzles, needlecraft, and reading. For 20 years, he participated in the Senior Citizen's Craft Fair. Garland was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Fay Wood; brother, Forrest; and grandson, Paul Eric Wilson. Survivors: Wife of 63 years, Ethel Wilson; daughter, Mary Virginia Hernandez and husband, Thomas; son, Doug Wilson; granddaughter, Laney Layne; great-grandchildren, Michael and Anthony; brother, Jack Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
