Kenneth Gordon Neumen, 87, a beloved friend and adopted father, died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, July 11, 2006 surrounded by those he loved.Celebration of Life: 11:00 A.M. Memorials: In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church."Uncle" Kenny was born May 2, 1919, in the little town of Lostwood, North Dakota, near Williston. He was a graduate of Williston High School, being an active member of the student body participating in varsity sports and clubs. Upon graduation from high school, Kenny attended various aircraft flight and maintenance schools and attended the University of Arizona in Tucson. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Upon discharge from the Navy, Kenny became a supervisor in the logistics department at Convair Aircraft (now Lockheed) in Fort Worth, where he retired after 30 years of distinguished work. Kenny spent his life working in church and civic charities in the Azle community, including singing in the choir at Azle Christian Church and serving as treasurer at Hope Luthern Church and serving in the local Lion's Club. His friends all acknowledge that Kenny was always ready to help in any situation. in his later years, Kenny enjoyed listening to music of the big-band era and caring for his yard and gardening in his many flowerbeds. One of Kenny's great joys was recently completing an extended Caribbean cruise with the extended Dwyer family, visiting the many international ports and dining on the local foods. Survivors: brothers, Dale Neumen and Ronald Neumen both of California; his adopted family, Mrs Karl O. Dwyer(June), Willow McGregor, Jim Dwyer, Billy Dwyer and Della South, all of whom were at his bedside when he died. He is also survived by 16 Dwyer grandchildren, his many Neumen nieces and nephews and their children and numerous Dwyer and Neumen great-grandchldren.
