Della Mae Murphree, 88, of Azle, went to be with her Lord and to be reunited with her husband on Saturday, July 22, 2006. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 25 at Ash Creek Baptist Church in Azle, where Mrs. Murphree had been a member since 1928. Burial will follow at Hoggard Reynolds Cemetery, which is located on South Stewart Street, on land set aside by her great-grandmother, Sarah Hoggard. Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 24 at White's Azle Funeral Home. Della Mae Murphree was born October 12, 1917, in Azle, the youngest daughter of Jesse W. Howard and Lucy Roe Howard. She was a descendant of pioneers in the Azle area; her paternal great-grandparents came to Parker County in the late 1850's. Except for a few years, Mrs. Murphree lived her entire life on South Stewart Street in Azle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Hoyt Lee Murphree; brother, Fred Howard, and sister, Blanche Dent. Mrs. Murphree was survived by her son, David and wife, Faye; son, Paul and wife, Judy, all of Azle; brother, Jesse Mack Howard and wife, Joyce of Chico; grandson, Brent Murphree of Fort Worth; three granddaughters, Victoria Mann and husband, Doug, Tara Koch and husband, Ricky, Jill Britt and husband, Steve; three great-grandsons, Tyler Clounch, Cody Clounch, and Jaxon Koch; two great-granddaughters, Jordan Mann and Devin Mann, all of Azle; brothers-in-law, Bobby Murphree and wife, Maxine of Azle, and Rufus Murphree of Fort Worth; sisters-in-law, Imogene Davis Cooper of Azle, Dorothy "Dot" Hill and Mildred Wood, both of Fort Worth; and a number of nieces and nephews.
