Barbara Alice Elliott, 81, a retired bookkeeper, died Wednesday, August 16, 2006 in Azle.Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, Mass.Memorials: Memorials made be made to the charity of choice.Barbara was born May 1, 1925 in Methuen, Massachusetts. She attended Methuen public schools and graduated from Searles High School in 1943. She married J. G. Elliott of Shreveport, LA. while he was stationed in Methuen with the U.S. Navy and moved to San Diego shortly thereafter. She lived in all four corners of the United States, New England, Florida, California and Washington, and spent her last years near her son and his wife in Azle. Barbara had worked in a textile mill in Lawrence, Mass., and in San Diego, was employed at Convair Airplane Factory as a key punch operator and as an auditor for Sears & Roebuck. She was a school secretary for seven years in Salem, NH. public schools, a bookkeeper, and banker for many years at various locations in NH. Barbara taught Sunday School for several years at the First Baptist Church in Salem, NH and was treasurer of the church at the same time. She traveled to Spanish Wells in the Bahamas on two occasions to preach with an evangelist and his wife. She loved her family and her cats, especially, GoldieSurvivors: son, Wayne Elliott and wife, Megg Galloway-Elliott of Sanctuary; grandchildren, Chris Elliott and wife, Ann and Daniel Elliott; brother, Al Bleakley and wife, Marge.
