George Sherman McClendon, 86, died Saturday, September 16, 2006 in Weatherford.Funeral: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 19 at White's Chapel of Memories. Burial: Simon Cemetery, Love County, Okla. Worth, TX 76161-2041.George was born May 13, 1920 in Reck, Okla. to Daniel and Elizabeth McClendon. He came to Fort Worth in 1942 to work at Consolidated Vultee Air Craft Company now known as General Dynamics. He retired after 42 years to farm and trap at 1000 Oaks near Aledo. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jewel Jones and Louise Hitt.Survivors: wife of 63 years, Margie Smith McClendon formerly of Wilson, Okla.; children, Ronnie and Danna McClendon of Lubbock, Kirk and Carol McClendon of Aledo and Kathy McClendon Douglas of Aledo; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
