Mary Boyd Hutcheson, 97, a retired teacher, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2006 at her Weatherford home.Mary Boyd Hutcheson was born in the Veal Station Community of Parker County, April 29, 1909 the daughter of pioneer settlers, Billy and Bessie (Jackson) Boyd. Mary was a long time resident of Weatherford. Mary's father sold his only horse so that Mary could complete her education, receiving a Masters degree from North Texas State Teacher's College in Denton. She was a long time school teacher in the Weatherford and Springtown schools. She also was a member of the Eastern Star, First United Methodist Church of Weatherford where she taught Sunday school classes for children and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther in 1984, her parents, and brother, James Thomas Boyd.Mary is survived by her son, Jim Hutcheson and wife, Cindy of Austin; granddaughters, Rebecca "Becca" Hutcheson of Seattle, and Melissa "Lissa" Bentley and husband, Alex of Austin; sister, Hattie Rainey of Denton; brother, Bobby R. Boyd and wife, Sallie of Azle; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Bess Bode for her loving care of Mary for the past seven years.Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at White's Chapel of Memories in Weatherford. Burial will follow in East Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at White's Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
