Leslie Mark King, 56, an insurance adjuster, found peace with his Lord and Savior Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, in Fort Worth. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Wednesday 1 at White's Springtown Chapel. Burial: Springtown Cemetery at a later date. Mark was born Feb. 28, 1950, to Emmitt and Ruby King in Fort Worth. He graduated from Springtown High School in the class of 1968. Mark received an arts degree in business management and physical education from Weatherford College after which he attended UT at Austin. Mark pursued many different interests in his life. He was owner of King Plumbing from 1973 to 1983 after which he worked in sales and distribution for Mark's Gourmet Foods. Most recently, Mark was a certified insurance adjuster, working and traveling around the country on various hurricane catastrophies, including Rita and Katrina. Mark was an avid tennis player and golfer and also a "movie buff." He was known for quoting lines from his favorite movies. Mark had a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him. Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Gober King, in 2002; his parents; sister, Joyce Hendrix; and special friend, Gene Laird. Survivors: Son, Dax King Slate of Springtown; daughters, Nicole King of Denton and Madison King of Peaster; sisters, Ann Chilcutt and husband, David of Springtown and Linda Owen of Hurst; brother, John King of Hurst; brother-in-law, Marvin Hendrix of Saginaw; grandson, Keanu Slate of Springtown; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
