Quentin Webster Burgett, 87, of Weatherford passed away Sunday, November 26, 2006 at his Weatherford home. Quentin Webster Burgett was born May 8, 1919 in Boone, Colorado the son of the late John Webster and Rubie King Burgett. He was a graduate of Eastern New Mexico State University at Portales, New Mexico. Quentin joined the Army Air Corp during World War II and became a prisoner of war in Germany after his B-17 was shot down. Once released from active duty in 1945, Quentin returned to Texas to teach elementary school. He rejoined the Air Force and was promoted through rank to major. Quentin served in the Philippines and retired in 1964 from Carswell Air Force Base. He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Burgett and sister, Anna George. Quentin is survived by his wife of 39 years and U.S. Navy veteran, Louise Burgett of Weatherford; sisters, Elaine McMurry and husband, Bill of Greensburg, KS, LaJuana Henning and husband, Vernon of Seminole; children, Patsy Brady and husband, Nick of Clovis, NM, Cindy McDaniel of Texico, NM, John Burgett and wife,Cindy of Farmington, NM; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Morris and husband, Todd of Clovis, NM, Stephen Burgett of Fort Worth, Christy Everett and husband, Jacon of Farmington, NM, Randy Burgett and wife, Sherri of Clovis, NM, Rachele Burgett of Farmington, NM, Heather Carr and husband, Eric of Fort Worth, Rick Burgett of Farmington, NM; eight great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2006 at White's Chapel of Memories in Weatherford. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
