Dorthy Jewel Cannon

Dorthy Jewel Cannon, 94, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2006. Funeral: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday at White's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Veal Station Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Dorthy "Jewel" was born September 10, 1912 in Tioga the daughter of David and Minnie White Cook. She lived in Springtown for over 50 years, and in the area all her life. Mrs. Cannon was a member of the Baptist Church and was proud to have read through the Bible two times. She retired from LTV. Mrs. Cannon was preceded in death by her husband, Baronn Cannon; and daughter, Bonnie Ruth Hinkle. Survivors: Son, James Cannon and wife, Bessie of Springtown; daughter, Peggy West of Bulverde; grandchildren, Kitty Nelson and husband, Neil, Sandra Graham and husband, George, Susie Jenkins, Patricia Moore and husband, Ben, Dorothy Johnson and husband, Calvin, Donna Shearer and husband Guy, J.V. Cannon and wife, Janet, Johnny Cannon and wife, Carla, Robert Cannon and wife, Shelly, Kim Cannon; 25 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
