Howard M. Burkhalter

Howard M. Burkhalter, 90, a loving husband, father and grandfather , died Friday, January 19, 2007 in Fort Worth.Funeral: 2:00 P.M. Monday at White's Springtown Chapel. Burial: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday at White's Funeral Home. Howard was born in Springtown to Oce and Winnie Young Burkhalter on February 28, 1916. He married Emma Lee Lowe on September 30, 1939. Howard and Emma Lee worked together in the dairy business for 15 years, afterwhich, they owned and operated Burkhalter Grocery Store for 17 years. They weren't just partners in their marriage they were partners together in everything they did. He was a member of the Springtown Church of Christ. Howard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Casey Burkhalter; and sister, Mozelle Langford. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Garden Terrace for their love and care.Survivors: wife of 67 years, Emma Lee Burkhalter of Springtown; daughters, Janita Jennings and husband, Ken of Springtown, Kathy Wadsworth and husband, Bob of Springtown; son, Chris Burkhalter and wife, Ginger of Benbrook; sisters, Georgia Ruth Pearce of Azle and Billie Gunter and husband, Alex of Arlington; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
