Marjorie Kennedy

Mrs. Marjorie Kennedy, 83, born December 10, 1924 in England died January 23, 2007 in a Fort Worth hospital.Marjorie was reared in England during World War II, before moving to the states with her family. She met Mr. Garland Kennedy and they were married. Together they traveled all over the country as Mr. Garland worked for A.T. & T. The retired to Weatherford in the early 1980s.Mrs. Kennedy loved her yard and spent many hours there. She was awarded "Yard of the Month" twice. Her second love was volunteering at Campbell Hospital, earning more than 1185 volunteer hours. She worked in surgery transportation where everyone knew and loved her. This was quite evident when Marjorie spent time in the hospital herself. A steady stream of caring staff would stop by to check on her. Mrs. Kennedy's presence at Campbell Hospital will be greatly missed. Most of all, she loved her "cup of tea".Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Hilton Kennedy, September 1, 1997.She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Ann; and three grandchildren, Lisa, Jason, and Judd; a brother and sister in England, brothers-in-law, Weldon Kennedy of Weatherford and Daulton Kennedy of Abilene; sister-in-law, Dorothy Ferdig. Also surviving are her loving neighbors and caregivers, Leo, Prissy, and Brittny Neely.Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007 in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.
