Bedford Ely Beaty, 77, passed away Friday, February 9, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral: 2:00 P.M. Monday Feb. 12, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Dennis. Burial: Johnson Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday at White's Funeral Home. Memorials: Building Fund of 1st Baptist Church of Dennis, Brock ISD Athletic Fund or charity of choice. Bedford was born July 15, 1929 to Curtis and Ruth Beaty in Lone Camp. He graduated from Santo High School in 1946. In August 1948, he married the love of his life, Patsy Gill and together they raised four daughters and one son on their farm in Brock. After 38 years, he retired in 1991 from General Dynamics. Bedford served 24 consecutive years on the Brock ISD school board. Until failing health, he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon at his church. He loved his family, his cows, and was an avid Brock Eagles fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Beaty, sister, Bettie Lou Long, daughter, Cathy Newsome and son-in-law, Greg Deaver. Survivors: wife of 58 years, Patsy Beaty; daughters and spouses, Linda and Mike Gilley of Springtown, Diane and Norman Tinkler of Brownwood and Vicky Deaver of Weatherford; son and wife, Mark and Nancy Beaty of Brock; son-in-law, Buddy Newsome of Brock; grandchildren and spouses, Chad and Lacy Gilley, Cory and Veronica Gilley, Chris and Ashley Gilley, Meagan Newsome, Joshua and Jeremy Alcorn, Nathan, Brady and Riley Deaver, Ross and Sam Beaty; great-grandchildren, Caroline and Seth Gilley; brother and wife, Howard and Jan Beaty; brother-in-law, Curtis Long; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
