H. Lavon Thompson

H. Lavon Thompson, 62, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2007 in Azle. Funeral: 2:00 p.m., Saturday at White's Springtown Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. H. Lavon Thompson was born March 4, 1944 in Shay, Okla the son of Judd and Melba Rogers Thompson. He was with NBC Channel 5 KXAS TV for 35 years as senior engineer operator. Mr. Thompson retired in November, 2005. He was a member of the Kingston High School Alummi Association. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, J.B., Leroy and Donald Thompson. Survivors: Wife, Teressa Scherer-Thompson of Azle; daughter, Kelly Shipley of Kingston, Okla; step-children, Ashley Brooks of Azle, Sheree Gray and husband, Jason of Clyde; brother, Odell Thompson and wife, Joyce of Springtown; grandchildren, Lane and Jamon Shipley, Jadelynn Gray; and many nieces and nephews.
