One of the highlights of her life was owning and operating for many years the family bakery, Ferdig's Pastry Shop, which was located on Palo Pinto. While doing so, she instilled a strong faith in God to all those she touched. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Sam "Freddie" Ferdig; brother, Garland Kennedy; twin sister, Doris Mitchell; and other sisters, Wanda Hardin, Glenda Moore, Thelma Henry, Juanita West; and nephew, Tommy Mitchell. Survivors: Dorothy is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Daulton Kennedy and wife, Gerry, Weldon Kenndy and wife, Thena; brother-in-law, Obie C. West; special friend, Cliff Callison; and three generations of nieces and nephews, who will miss her deeply. She also left behind her beloved dogs, Tiger and Rudy.
